Liposuction
In general, the body metabolism rate will decrease with age resulting in the accumulation of excess fat along various body parts such as the belly, hips, buttocks, thighs, upper arms, etc. The collection of fat on the various body parts will create changes in the figure, making it look less attractive than in the past. Liposuction can resolve problems with regard to excess fat in these various areas. Its objective is not to reduce weight, but to eliminate accumulated fat in certain body parts only.
The Procedures of Liposuction
The areas for Liposuction are marked. In the case of a limited amount of excess fat located in one specific area, local anesthetics may be applied. However, in the case of several areas requiring Liposuction due to a significant amount of fat, this procedure must be undertaken using general anesthetics. A wound of 0.5 millimeters is cut into the skin to insert the Liposuction injection. A Liposuction machine will be used, and upon completion of the process the surgeon will stitch the small wound closed, requiring 1-2 stitches only. The duration of the Liposuction procedure depends on the location and amount of fat.
Post Operative Care
The patient should wear an elastic bandage or elastic vest to tighten the body parts where liposuction has been made, for at least 48 hours after the surgery. This will help reduce swelling, and compress the void inside the body which has been created by the Liposuction, preventing clogging of the lymph. Thereafter, the patient may wear the elastic bandage or elastic vest for another 15-30 days, to recover more quickly and effectively.
The patient may go to work or undertake normal activities, but should not make strong swift movements, and should not move the body parts where Liposuction has been undertaken.
Recommendation/Advice
Liposuction is not a way to lose weight. Therefore, in order to assist the positive effects of Liposuction, the patient should exercise regularly in order to make the skin firm and healthy, having no wrinkles. This will ensure that once you undergo Liposuction, your skin remains firm and attractive. Then, you will once again have a slim, shapely figure, and firm skin.
