Alarplasty

Alarplasty is used in the case of patients with abnormally large and wide nostrils. Such features can be rectified by surgery, using local anesthetics on the specific location. Surgery generally takes about 30 minutes, and involves the trimming of lower edges of the nostrils, depending on the form/shape.

Post Operative Care

1. Sleep and rest with head slightly elevated to reduce swelling for 2-3 days.
2. Should refrain from lying on one side.
3. Refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages and eating salty, spicy, preserved/pickled food for one week.
4. 24 hours after surgery, you may gently wash the face with mild soap
5. Clean the wound every day with saline solution 0.9% NSS to remove blood stains, dirt and reduce the risk of infection.
6. Stitches can be removed after 7 days.
